What an evening!
On 7 August 2026, I exhibited at the Zomermarkt in Vlissingen together with two people very close to my heart. It wasn’t just the perfect view of the sea, the summer breeze and the incredible number of lovely, interested visitors that made this experience so special — it was also everything I felt throughout the entire event.
By now, I’m getting more and more confident with how and where I set things up, how I present my work and how to have small, friendly conversations with people in different languages. With every market, I’m able to enjoy these moments a little more — and yes, also feel proud of what I’ve achieved so far.
Sometimes that gets a little lost between calculating prices, pieces that didn’t turn out the way I wanted, working out taxes, trying to understand the tax system in the first place (holy sh** ) and everything else that comes with running a small business. But yes — it’s getting there. And this day reminded me of that once again.
The fireworks at the end of the evening, with some dear friends joining us, made the day even more special.
